Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
This notice describes the cookies and similar client-side storage used by the Whispr EDU product. It exists to inform you and does not create entitlements, warranties, or commitments beyond what is set out in the signed commercial documents.
A short, functional set, no third-party tracking
No advertising cookies, no cross-site behavioural profiling, no social-media tracking pixels.
Your browser is the primary control surface
Disabling functional storage may prevent login or break the reporter flow.
This notice applies only to Whispr EDU
Whispr EDU is one of multiple distinct product lines under the BackPR umbrella (backpr.com). Each Whispr product is operated by a separate team and uses its own storage profile. The Whispr Compliance Italy product at whispr.backpr.com publishes its own cookie notice.
Functional and security-related browser storage
- Strictly necessary session storage for the administrative console and reporter flow.
- Preference storage for language and minor display preferences.
- Security signals for authentication context and abuse protection.
- Billing-related cookies set by Stripe only on checkout surfaces when billing is in use.
Strictly necessary storage does not require consent
Under the ePrivacy Directive and analogous national rules, technical and strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent because they are required to deliver the service that the user has requested. Preference storage falls within the same rationale where it is used to remember the user's own deliberate selection. If any non-essential cookie were ever introduced in the future, consent would be requested in line with applicable law before it is set.
Use your browser to manage storage
Users can clear, disable, or block cookies and local storage through their browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary storage prevents login, can break the reporter follow-up flow, and may render the administrative console unusable. The customer organisation, not Whispr, is responsible for educating its own users about browser behaviour and for any operational impact resulting from blocked storage.
